Darkroom Printing
Black and white custom photographic prints can be produced from 35mm negatives up to 4x5 sheet film in a traditional fully equipped darkroom.
I work with fibre base silver gelatin photographic paper, the ultimate in exhibition quality, and adjust tones with burning and dodging where necessary. I use double weight multigrade glossy Ilford paper. Rather than a high gloss, air-dried gloss has a lustre shine and achieves an excellent tonal range.
Different surface papers can be sourced if you have a larger project.
Everything is archivally tray processed using double fix, wash, hypo clear, and a minimum 1 hour final wash in a vertical print washer before being air-dried on drying racks. Prints are then flattened and finally spotted. Post-process toning is also available.
Size and price start from 127x177mm (5x7 inches) at $61 + GST, up to 304x406mm (12x16 inches) at $150 + GST.
